AnalogX CacheBooster is a system maintenance/performance tool. It tweaks certain settings of your system to give Windows a bit of a performance boost. What the application actually does is tweak several hard drive cache settings to allow programs to benefit from faster read/write speeds.
The configurations that are changed by the application are the following: Minimum Disk Cache, Maximum Disk Cache, Chunk Size, Name Cache, and Directory Cache. AnalogX CacheBooster, as the name suggests, increases the cache for these configurations. The amount of extra hard drive space assigned to each of those categories depends largely on the profile selected. By default, CacheBooster comes with 9 profiles preloaded. Thoy range from CD Burner, and Gaming, to Power User and Multimedia. The developer of the application did some research to find which values worked best for those uses. You can add your own profiles by changing the amount of the hard drive space assigned to each category and then saving them.
It should be noted that all these configurations can be changed form within your system without CacheBooster. However, the application provides a central location for the most important cache settings and allows you to create profiles for easy switching.
The performance gain will depend mostly on your computer usage and its specifications.
